COMPOSITION ROOF
STEP 1:  LOCATE THE ROOF RAFTERS AND MARK 
A REFERENCE LINE
STEP 2:  SNAP A CHALK LINE ACROSS THE ROOF FOR LAYOUT OF THE TILE TRAC MOUNTS
STEP 3:  LOCATE THE ROOF RAFTER BY USING AN ELECTRONIC STUD FINDER.  A CARDBOARD BASE ALLOWS THE SENSOR TO SLIDE OVER THE ROOF SHINGLES.
STEP 4:  AFTER LOCATING THE RAFTER CENTER, DRILL A 3/16" PILOT HOLE FOR THE TILE TRAC MOUNT.  WE RECOMMEND THE USE OF A CARBIDE MASONRY BIT FOR DRILLING THROUGH COMPOSITION.
STEP 5:  LOCATE DEAD CENTER OF THE RAFTER AND MARK 
THE EXACT HOLE
STEP 6: USING A TAPE MEASURE, LAYOUT THE RAFTER CENTERS WHICH ARE USUALLY 16" OR 24" ON CENTER.
STEP 7:  APPLY SEALANT TO THE BASE OF THE TILE TRAC.
STEP 8:  BOLT THE 5/16" LAG BOLT TO THE ROOF USING AN IMPACT WRENCH AND A 1/2" SOCKET.
STEP 9:  INSTALLATION OF THE TILE TRAC MOUNTS TO THE ROOF.
STEP 10: SLIDE THE UPPER CARRIAGE OVER THE 
TRACK AND INSERT THE HEX STUD
